SIX FEET UNDER WELCOME NEW GUITARIST AND NEW ALBUM OUT TODAY

Support: Six Feet Under announced today the addition of Ola Englund, who will make his debut on the 18 Nights Of Blood Tour next month. Singer Chris Barnes said of the new addition to the Six Feet Under fold: “Ola is an amazing guitarist and was chosen for his superlative technique and style of playing. We believe he will be the perfect complement to Steve Swanson, and the devastating rhythm section that is Talley/Hughell. Steve, Kevin, Jeff and myself are so looking forward to Ola’s entrance into the band upon the release of Undead and the commencement of our first tour next month with Dying Fetus and Revocation. We can’t wait for you to witness the new killing machine that is Six Feet Under Ola takes over duties for our good friend and death metal warrior Rob Arnold who will be retiring from touring but will remain a central writing partner and fellow collaborator on future SFU releases. We are all sad to not have Rob on the road with us, but are confidant and 110% psyched that Ola is now within the ranks of the Undead and will be ready to lay waste to every stop along the way! Hails!” Ola said of his new role in Six Feet Under: “When I got the call from Chris, it felt unreal; first thing that popped up in my head was, ‘why the hell did he want me — the total gear nerd from Sweden — to join his awesome band? To be able to share the stage with one of the biggest icons in death metal and the other killer musicians in SFU is...

SIX FEET UNDER INTERVIEW BY METAL MARK!

SIX FEET UNDER INTERVIEW BY METAL MARK!

Support: The always punishing Six Feet Under will be releasing “Undead” on May 22nd here in the States via Metal Blade Records. As with every Six Feet Under album, the band takes death metal to a new level, and with the addition of new members, this band has a new fire inside them and it shows with “Undead.” Last week I got to have a brief conversation with vocalist Chris Barnes about the new record, the new lineup, touring and much more! Check it out below! “Undead” is easily one of the most anticipated records of the year, but no one seems more excited than you honestly. Fair statement? That’s a very fair and probably true statement! (laughs) I am totally excited to release it, but then again, when that day happens it’s kind of a weird feeling for me honestly. The time between the record being completed and the record actually being released is cool because it’s still our record ya know. There’s that unknown to it. Once it’s released it’s like okay now everyone can pick it to pieces. We’ve gotten a lot of positive response from the tracks we’ve released so far, so I’m hoping that’s a good sign for it’s release. If we would have gotten a negative response I might have gone on a killing rampage (laughs). Personally, I think this album fucking kills! It’s the best thing that I’ve done since “The Bleeding” man. I know a lot of people may be surprised when I say that but I’m really proud of this album man. You guys already released “Formaldehyde” and “18 days”,...

SIX FEET UNDER – CHRIS BARNES INTERVIEW

Support: Six Feet Under will be releasing their ninth studio album titled Undead this coming May. I spoke with singer Chris Barnes about the new album as well as all the exciting things happening with Six Feet Under. Check out the interview below: Thanks Chris for taking the time to talk to HearEvil.com the heavy music social network run by women and directed toward women about all the exciting things going on with Six Feet Under! You guys have a lot of exciting things coming up that I know your fans will want to hear about. CB: Yeah we are coming out with a new album at the end of May (May 22nd) which is our 9th studio album called Undead. We’re really looking forward to the release. It’s been a lot of work putting that album together and it’s one of the best albums that I’ve ever been involved with personally so I‘m real happy for that. Can you tell me about the concept and/or themes behind the album? What can fans expect from the new album? CB: Fans will definitely find a revamped and very focused Six Feet Under and as far as the music goes more intense more, more dynamic, but still holding true to what hardcore is and that‘s aggressive death metal. I think the themes lyrically, fans will find are the same subject matter as I’ve covered but in a different maybe more fascinating way. Recently there have been some lineup changes in Six Feet Under, did the new lineup affect the writing process for the new record? CB: Well not the actual process. I still go about my area...
