KORPIKLAANI LEAD SINGER BREAKS FINGER

Jonne Järvelä apparently broke his finger before Korpiklaani could even begin their North American tour with Týr, Moonsorrow, and Metsatöll. The vocalist, somewhat well-known for his boisterous antics on and off the stage, was admitted to a hospital in Queens, New York, where he was diagnosed and apparently released on August 27, one day before the tour kicked off in Quebec City. It is not yet known what, if any, effect Järvelä’s injury will have (or has had) on the tour, and of course we wish him the very best.

Korpiklaani posted the picture below on their Facebook page:

As the picture indicates, Järvelä’s surgery is scheduled one week from the 27th, which is September 3, when the band is supposed to be playing Granada Theatre in Lawrence, Kansas. While there’s been no official word of cancellation floating around, I would advise Lawrence-area fans to keep a close eye on any news that might come your way.
