Due to circumstances beyond their control, Fear Factory were forced to pull out of this year’s Shockwave Festival Tour, which was scheduled to begin tomorrow in Seattle, WA. The band made a collective statement regarding their decision:
“We are truly disappointed not to be part of the Shockwave tour. We send our sincerest apologies to all our North American fans planning to come out this Summer, but we will be back. Please look for FEAR FACTORY headlining dates in August.”
Barely 24 hours earlier, Voivod also announced that they would cancel their appearance at the Shockwave Festival Tour. The promoters of the tour have posted an official message on the landing page of their website that reads as follows:
“It is with great disappointment that we have to make this announcement.
With the recent departure of Voivod from the Shockwave Festival lineup. As well as low advance ticket sales we have decided to pull the plug on the Shockwave Festival.”
For purchases made with a credit card, your card will automatically be refunded. All other refunds are available at point of purchase.
We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this has caused.”
Bad news all-around for metal fans (except for the upcoming August Fear Factory dates, which are pretty cool)! The doomed tour was meant to feature Cattle Decapitation, Misery Index, Havok, Fear Factory, and Voivod headlining, and the latter three bands canceled. What on earth happened here?
