CHARIOTS OF THE GODS – TIDES OF WAR
Recently, I was given the opportunity to review the new album by Ottowa natives, Chariots of the Gods, called Tides of War released this past January and this is definitely a band to watch out for in the future.
The band which consists of Mathieu St-Amour – guitar, Rich O’Neil – drums, Renaud Jobin – vocals, Payam Doryani – bass and Dimitri Gervais – guitar delivers a solid album with 14 tracks that grab you from the start. The band doesn’t mince words and gets straight to the point. Chariots of the Gods don’t just play great songs, they pack a punch with each track. Some of my personal favorites include the album title track Tides of War, Collapse Of An Empire and Starborn, however the whole album left me wanting more with each song. Chariots of the Gods count In Flames, Testament, Iron Maiden and Lamb of God as some of their influences and it shows throughout the entire album. The first strike IS deadly!!!
Produced by the legendary Glen Robinson (Queensryche, Gwar, Annihilator), this is definitely one for your metal collection. Check out the video below of the track Tides of War and visit their official website here or via their Facebook page to pick up their new album. Stay tuned for my interview with the band on their new album and what’s next for Chariots of the Gods.
