I recently was asked if I wanted to review an EP by a band who although may have formed in 2010 are on their way to greatness. Adrenechrome released their debut EP “Hideous Appetites” this past November and all I can say is what a great disc from start to finish.
If you are a fan of 80’s metal or looking for some great new music, then this EP will be right up your alley. Influenced by such greats as Pantera, Black Sabbath, Metallica, Slayer, Van Halen, Megadeth, and Frank Zappa just to name a few, Adrenechrome are off to a great start. The opening song Titans Fall grabbed me from the start and reminded me of Celtic Frost and Forbidden, while the track Winds of the Void brought me back to early Metallica days. As I listened to the 7 song EP I fell in love with their sound and couldn’t wait to hear what each track had to offer.
The band which consists of Chris Friesen – guitar and vocals, Tim Kehoe – guitars,
Matt Copeland – drums and Mike Van Dyke – bass is poised and ready to spread their brand of metal to the masses. But don’t just take my word for it, check them out for yourself. Growing up in the 80’s and being a fan of metal music from that era, I wasn’t sure what I was going to hear, but needless to say I didn’t just like their EP, I loved it and I think you will too.
